Mage: the Awakening – The Basics |

So, got no clue what the new Mage is all about? Wondering if Mage is at all like Harry Potter? Here's some basic information to get you started:
Synopsis In Mage, players portray Awakened sorcerers and participate in a secret pursuit of power whilst struggling against occult adversaries and dwindling mystic assets. All the while, you must walk the fine line between supernal supremacy and mortal hubris.
Paths There are five Mage "paths", each of which exhibit traits and wield magic in a way that is unique to their mystical Awakening. Catchwords for the Paths: Acanthus – Clever, intuitive, and enchanted.
Moros – Pensive, patient, and haunted.
Mastigos – Devious, discreet, and diabolical.
Obrimos – Resolute, inspired, and mighty.
Thyrsus – Passionate, wise, and spiritual.
Orders As well there are competing ideologies which are realized by the mystic Orders.
Adamantine Arrow – a military order of soldiers and strategists who seek wisdom through adversity and conflict.
Free Council – an alliance of ideologues and futurists who seek to tear down the old ways of magic in favour of the new.
Guardians of the Veil – a secret conspiracy of spies and masterminds who police mages and ensure that magic remains hidden from humanity.
Mysterium – an arcane society of scholars and explorers who seek out hidden lore to preserve the old ways of magic.
Silver Ladder – an elite fellowship of ministers and magistrates who guide mage society and aspire to forge a new kingdom of magic.
